This DNA testing startup reinvented genetic diagnostics in its first few years in business. But they eventually experienced a lull as their less nimble competitors began to catch up and flood the market with choice. A complicated landscape had left them tongue-tied. Internally, they possessed a strong and compelling missionary zeal. But they weren’t telegraphing their sense of purpose clearly to the outside world. So, they invited us in to help them up-level their messaging in a way that would connect their very earnest mission with that of the medical community they were selling to.

Solution /

We took a deep dive into the world of obstetrics and oncology and surfaced later with a newfound respect for the beleaguered doctors and their staff working on the front lines of the health industry. With that customer insight in hand, we worked iteratively with Counsyl’s sales team to develop a pitch that was inspiring enough to be captivating while practical enough to close sales. And finally we designed a series of initial creative executions to show how to bring the story to life. It was a whirlwind project ranging from high level brand aspirations to in-the-weeds sales training. Thankfully we had the dedicated peeps at Counsyl to keep us honest and inspire every little cell in our bodies.
